Through Healing
Has anyone ever told you “it’s because I’ve been through a lot?”
We’ve all been through “a lot”: abuse, trauma, disease, sickness, loss, pain, suffering. That being said, it’s not a reason why anyone should treat you less than a child or daughter of Christ. This is why Christ died for our sins. As Christ followers, we are called to be different. The Bible states we are held to a higher standard. We are held to a greater accountability than those who wander as lost sheep. Never forget, you are not like anyone else. You were not created or designed like anyone else. When God made you, He made you unlike anyone else. You are one of a kind, and you are beautifully and wonderfully made.
However, because we are God’s children, when we know better, we should do better, right? But what happens when things do not go as planned? When Christ followers are the one who let you down; hurt you, disappoint you, abuse you, cause pain? What happens when you did all the right things, and still ended up in a bad situation? We all fall short, which is why we need God’s grace daily. It is not your fault, or my fault. It is no one’s fault. We live in a broken world, and because of free will, unfortunately bad things do tend to happen.
Remember, no matter the pain that you’ve been through, no matter your circumstances, they do not define you, only He defines you. No person, job, or thing can define your worth. So, when you feel lost, hopeless and alone, remind yourself of what scripture says you are:
- Jeremiah 29:11
- Mark 5:34
- Romans 15:13
When people make you feel less than what the bible says, pray for them. We are to pray for those who are lost and hurting, those who have either intentionally or unintentionally hurt us. We should not speak ill of them, but rather lift their name up to Christ, and ask for forgiveness. Some situations are more dangerous and require immediate help, but for those who are left in an emotional, deep, tearing, painful scar, we should bring their name before Christ in prayer, and begin to forgive them, and ourselves.
The bible states that in any circumstance where we surround ourselves with people that they should be like-minded. But what happens when things have gotten too far, and they become a part of your inner circle? If their actions don’t align with the word of God, we should remove ourselves from their presence. God is concerned with our heart and our souls. The Bible talks about soul ties, where a friendship can be so strong that it is as if two souls are knit into each other, just look at Jonathan and David. Praying for breaking of soul ties is one of the first steps to healing.
I am no exception to this. I have experienced all of these in some form, in relationships, friendships, familyships. What I have learned, is that to move forward and move on, you must heal. You must break the soul tie, you must forgive, you must heal. More recently, I have learned that forgiveness does not need an apology, it has to come from your own heart. The burden is not ours to carry, but to leave at the cross. It is too heavy for us. And we do not have to suffer, because Christ has suffered on the cross for us.
If this is you in any way, and this ministered to you, PRAY!
Morning, noon, and night. Everyday. Ask for healing, restoration, and forgiveness. These verses throughout this blog are some of the greatest and most powerful scriptures that has helped me to get through these tough times. Because they will continue to happen, and will come in waves. People will always hurt and disappoint you, but Christ and your heavenly Father never will. So, surrender your pain and your hurt to Him. Remember, you are God’s masterpiece – through healing. He has a plan, which is greater than your own. He ordains our every step, so if you think you are behind in life, or should be somewhere greater, just know that you are exactly where you are meant to be. If He can plan for the moon and stars to align, He can setup a magnificent plan for your life.
You have purpose.
You are loved.
